TWO MINUTE TEAHAB: The Week in Photos

Hello! It's F(r)antastic Friday.... ahem! Anyway, I'm busy writing a book review and round up for tomorrows blog post, and I'm also making headway on the new Checkmybox website. I'm a massive computer nerd. (when I was a kid I desperately wanted a PC instead of a mega drive...)  I love learning how to use different software and programs and so right now I'm in my element. Making jewellery, taking and editing photos and then designing and creating the website. I could do this for a living! erm... hang on... I can't believe we only have one week left at the bead shop. I'm all sad and excited and nervous, but really just looking forward to our new adventure.
So instead of a jewellery post today, here are a few photos from the week. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Back tomorrow! Fran xx

Sponsor Teahab

We've decided it's time to start taking on sponsors. We explain more on our sponsor page, but we are looking for funds to allow Teahab to keep up with current trends and continue to bring insightful and new tutorials and ideas. I've wanted to keep the costs low for advertising on Teahab. The blog has never been about making money so there are various options available to suit a range of budgets. If you're interested please take a look at our sponsor page to see for yourself.

Just one last Geometric post

Hi everyone. I'm dead excited cause I've just watched Mo Farah win his second gold medal! I'm absolutely gutted it's all over tomorrow, but at least I've still got plenty to catch up on... the Olympics live on... well, in my bedroom anyway...

Back to business then. As promised here are some of the other geometric makes from the past two weeks. We're starting our new theme tomorrow and I'm already loving it! Come back then to find out more. I'll also be announcing the competition winner. If you haven't already entered you can find out how easy it is here. You still have time!
Hope your all having a great weekend. Fran xx

Adventures in:

Hello, how's it going? I wanted to show you a skirt I have customised for Geometric week. To make this skirt iron a fusible interfacing (preferably the same colour as your fabric) to the inside of your skirt. Draw your design onto the interfacing and when your happy cut the pattern out. Easy as that. Quick Tip: Try to keep your shapes pointing down as the fabric will drape that way.

We'll be showing you the rest of our geometric makes tomorrow, so keep those eyes peeled. Fran x

TWO MINUTE TEAHAB: Keep it going

Alright then. It's usually around this time that we announce our new theme for the week, but this week it's a little different. I don't think we've done geometric week justice quite yet. I have so many ideas left to try, and lots of finished projects to show you guys, so we're carrying on for an extra week. What's even better is this means last weeks competition is carried on for a bonus week! You lucky ladies (and gents).

One of the reasons I haven't had chance to post about these things yet is because of my amazing little niece Noelia's birthday party. You just can't go wrong with a BBQ, bouncy castle and my sisters legendary cakes! Whenever I got the chance I was snapping away with my camera, so I've got plenty of photos to practice my new photoshoping skills on. Here's a few I've been working on today.

Two Minute Teahab

Hello everyone. Last night was the Olympic opening ceremony, which had me and Hannah glued to the screen with an odd mix of pride, confusion and that lovely, typically British trait that lets us laugh at our own eccentricities. Up until now I've not thought too much about the games but now I'm hooked! The top left picture is of Olympic bunting in Birmingham city centre as the sun goes down.
The next picture is of presents! We've spent all morning wrapping these for our 'lucky dip' giveaway that starts on Monday. Everyone who comes down to The Birmingham Bead Shop and makes a purchase gets to pick themselves out a present as well. We're going to have loads of offers over the next month to celebrate our 3rd Birthday so if your in Birmingham drop into the shop and see what's going on.
We've also given you guys a little teaser as we get ready for next weeks theme with the other two photos. All will be revealled tomorrow! Can you guess what it is yet? Fran xx

TWO MINUTE TEAHAB: FRIDAY PHOTOS

Yesterday I went camera shopping with my beautiful friend and photographer Gareth. Like most people, I love taking photos, but no matter how many times Gareth has tried to explain aperture and... erm some other words I can't remember, it doesn't seem to sink in. I'm determined to learn. I can do this.

I was previously taking photos with my phone, Ipad and my very old point and shoot camera, but now I am the owner of the amazing Canon Powershot G12 (I love that name). The difference is immediately clear, even with my currently limited skills. The auto function is a dream to use and I've been snapping away all day. Here are a few shots

The week in Instagram

With such fantastic weather for the last week I have been outside (or gazing out longingly) at every opportunity, because lets face it, who doesn't love this time of year?
